Amplify efforts to relieve traders in distress: KTMF | KNO

Srinagar, June 26 (KNO): Kashmir Traders and Manufactures Federation (KTMF) delegation led by its President, Muhammad Yaseen Khan on Thursday visited north Kashmir’s Uri Tehsil of Baramulla district and met shopkeepers, traders and people from business community there. Khan, who also heads Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) as per a statement issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said a range of issues concerning the shopkeepers & residents of the frontier area were put forward by them. Interacting with people there Khan said, “There is a dire need to minimise their difficulties and improve their economies.” Major demands put forth during the occasion include proper drainage system, addition of fire tenders which unfortunately is one for the whole Uri Tehsil, making of passenger sheds, community bankers, road widening with rehabilitation of affected shopkeepers, availability of drinking water in the market, sanitation & cleanliness, the statement added. Khan listened to the demands of the traders and assured them of taking up with authorities at an earliest. “It is our duty to highlight the woes of traders as we owe a sense of duty towards them. We urge the incumbent LG administration to utilize its resources to reduce the mounting woes of people,” Khan said. While on his way back to Srinagar, Khan met Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo and apprised him of the difficulties faced by the people of the district. On giving a patient hearing DC Baramulla assured Khan of resolving most of the issues in coming days. Earlier on his arrival at Uri town, Muhammad Yaseen Khan was accorded a warm welcome by Traders Federation Uri in a impressive but simple gathering held at rest house Uri. Khan felicitated Haji Mohammad Shafi for being elected as President Traders Federation Uri. Many other prominent citizens of Uri were present on the occasion which include  Haji Assudullah Lone, Ex Chairman of the local association & Haji Saad. Khan was accompanied by General Secretary Traders Federation Baramulla Er Tariq Ah Mugloo , President Traders Federation Handwara Sofi Ajaz and several other members of KTMF which include Lateef Ah Sofi, Raja Fida Hussain Khan, Gh Qadir Mir, Ashfaq Ah Mahajan & Tariq Ahmad—(KNO)
